More about Kbal Spean

Why Visit:
Kbal Spean, also called the “River of a Thousand Lingas,” is an ancient site with many Hindu stone carvings on the riverbed and rocks. It’s inside Phnom Kulen National Park and combines history, art, and nature with a nice waterfall and jungle walk.

Activities:
Walk a 40-45 minute uphill trail through the jungle to see the carved stones in the river.
See many carved lingas (symbols of the god Shiva), other religious symbols, and pictures of Hindu gods.
Enjoy the small waterfall at the top of the hike.
Visit nearby places like Phnom Kulen waterfalls and Banteay Srei temple.

Ticket Price:
$20 entry fee for Phnom Kulen National Park.
You may need an Angkor Pass if entering through certain routes.

Visitor Tips:
Visit early in the morning to avoid heat and crowds.
Wear good shoes because the trail can be slippery.
Bring water for the hike.
Best to go during rainy season end or dry season (July to December) when carvings are easy to see.
Use a car or motorbike to get there.

Best Time to Visit:
Between July and December for nice weather and clear views.
